Dear Pinelands School of Practical Nursing;
I came into the nursing program not knowing if ill succeed but knowing that I absolutely wanted to become a nurse. I remember (Jovita F.) stating, "Nursing is not for the faint of heart." And (Dana D.) telling us only half of us would graduate, needless to say I was terrified. Could I do this? Was a smart enough? Was I capable? This year and a half was far from easy. I was juggling school, work and two baby girls at home. I had to sacrifice, and I did. I woke up early and stayed up late studying trying to be the best student I could be.
There were numerous times I wanted to quit and cried but I kept pushing myself because I always had the end goal in mind, to become a nurse. (Beth C.) pushed us to our limits and although we didn't always like it, she helped mold us into nurses and I couldn't be more grateful. (Patti F.) and (Gerdina V.) gave us all the opportunities they could in clinical and I learned a lot from both of them. All of staff were extremely helpful and truly wanted us to succeed.
Today I can finally say I am a nurse! Going to Pinelands was hands down the best decision I have ever made and now my dream is my reality. I felt fully prepared and I passed my NCLEX the first time! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this opportunity to go out into the world and be someone special. A person with purpose, and a role model for my two daughters.
Love Always ,
Geena Shopp, LPN.
